Integrity

"Always doing the right thing, even when no one is looking."

What is a Financial Advisor and Why Do I Need One?

Investopedia defines a Financial Advisor as “your planning partner”. This is a short and succinct definition. A Financial Advisor should always be your partner in whatever financial needs you may have. Those needs may include:

  • check
Saving for your children's college education
  • check
Saving for and preparing for your retirement
  • check
helping you build the right risk-management plan with the right insurance in place

Depending on your specific needs, your reason for needing to work with a financial advisor may be simple or complex. The importance of working with a qualified financial advisor can mean the difference between pinching pennies your entire life and finding ways to save more so you can create a prosperous retirement.

Together, we can tackle whatever financial concern you may have. And while I don't profess to be an expert in everything, I do work with a great team of advisors who all have different specialties. When you work with an Integrity advisor, you don't just work with one person. You work with a cohesive team.

Below, you will find three of my specialties. While they are not an exhaustive list of what I can do for my clients, these three are the most sought after from my clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Are You Compensated?

This is always the first question by all potential clients. The great part? I have chosen not to be a fee-based advisor. Based on the advice I give you, you may choose to do business with me through financial or insurance products and services. The companies that offer these products and services compensate me and you do not participate in that compensation. And no, I do not require my clients to use the products or services that I offer, just to work with me as an advisor.

How Can I Schedule An Introductory Appointment With You?

I always encourage an introductory appointment or interview with all potential clients. This appointment will give you the chance to ask me almost any question you may have. You can schedule an introductory appointment by clicking here.

(Because I work with clients outside of the Southern California area, the majority of my appointments are conducted via the phone or web-based conferencing. If you are in the Southern California area and would like to meet personally, you can request that by using our contact form here.)

How Can I Verify That You Have the Appropriate Licenses?

That's an easy one. In California I am licensed under the California Department of Insurance (http://www.insurance.ca.gov/). To look up a specific person or license, navigate your way to http://www.insurance.ca.gov/license-status/index.cfm. Here, you will be able to search via an advisor or agent's license number or name. (If you search by name, you should note that their system defaults to last name first and no comma between last and first name)

Here is my information:

License# 0J02227

Name Search: Clarkson Gerad

Do You Also Handle Investments in the Stock Market, Such As Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds?

Due to the inherent risk of stocks, bonds and mutual funds, I have chosen not to specialize in these types of investments. However, that doesn't mean that we can't help you with your questions or investment concerns. As I stated above, at Integrity, you work with a cohesive team of advisors. We do have advisors at Integrity that do specialize in the stock markets and are available to assist you with your questions, concerns and investments.

Don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will put you in touch with the right Integrity advisor for your situation.
